Heidelberg Model United Nations conference to be held from 13th to 15th of May, 2016
It is our honor to warmly invite you to the first edition of the Heidelberg Model United Nations conference, to be held from the 13th to the 15th of May, 2016. The conference’s general topic is “Achieving peace through interdependence”.
They seek to innovate through the introduction of the ‘interconnectivity’ concept, experimented with in North and Latin American conferences, yet relatively new in the European arena. This approach aims to ensure the most realistic representation of international relations by establishing interdependence chains between different committees and topic areas, bringing the conference together as never before.HDMUN will count with seven interrelated committees: the Security Council, the World Bank, UNEP, UNESCO, Legal, the Arctic Council and the Presidential Summit. This last committee will be integrated by participants representing countries’ Heads of State, who will possess full executive authority on its nation’s foreign policy and will keep its coherence through his or her country’s delegates in each committee. Decisions taken there and in each individual committee will thus influence each other and demand a holistic approach.
