At SMUN, delegates gain insight into the United Nations and the dynamics of international relations by assuming the roles as representatives of a country other than their own in the different committees. SMUN offers a fantastic opportunity for students to debate issues in the world today that are currently faced by world leaders and to draft resolutions in response to these issues.

Stockholm Model United Nations strives to achieve the following goals:

  • To spread and increase knowledge on international affairs and enable the delegates to understand the causes of conflicts between nations
  • To promote international cooperation and give the delegates an insight of how global issues are resolved through multilateral diplomacy
  • To inspire young leaders of today to actively make positive contributions to the society

Stockholm Model United Nations Conference SMUM 2016 will be held at 10-13 November 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden.
